Petra Gruiters has a predilection for painting people, especially portraits. With a painterly style and realistic rendering, Gruiters creates beautiful works of art with oil on wooden panel or real Belgian Linen. Her theme is the power and subtlety of femininity and capturing beauty and vulnerability. Sources of inspiration are fashion, romance and nature, especially flowers.

Petra is a member of the Portrait Society of America. She is on the board of Antwerp Colors NPO. An association to promote art and artists. Petra's work hangs in private and corporate collections in NL, BE, Germany, Italy, Canada and Japan. She had numerous solo and group shows in The Netherlands and Belgium. Notoriety in newspaper and magazine articles. Participated in radio program regarding art. Portrayed various people including the Mayor of Gorinchem, NL.

She started painting late in life after a successful career in Finance. She’s currently studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. She is represented by Artmajeur, Tricera and Balthasart.
